A year ago I released three songs, with no real objective in mind. Somehow those songs still had a general theme to them: the journey of finding myself. I decided to finish off this first chapter by remaking those songs and adding a finale called ‘see you at the border’ to add up into an EP that strings you along for a metaphorical trip.
The story of the EP goes like this:
After having ‘Enough’ with my situation, I decided to leave. So I hopped in the car in ‘Headlights’ and had an existential bout about life itself. I came across a Motel in ‘Motel Room’ and decided to burn it down, because it had all the old values in it, that have no place in my ideal world. Finally, I arrived at the border in ‘see you at the border’, but I was unsure wether or not I wanted to leave. The border stands for the one between life and death. I chose life, because I felt the need to stay for someone.

ENOUGH:
Hold your breath
Got enough of a heavy head anyway
I know what you’re about to say
Don’t pretend
Like I haven’t shown you dozens of times
It’s not worth to me, come on don’t act surprised
And every day goes by, dragging it out
Spreading it thin like a poor mans supper
I can’t seem to ride it out (hmm)
Got lost while running about
Yeah I really don’t wanna be here anymore so…
Anyway
I gotta move on
Not here to stay
I say I gotta run
Oh baby I don’t care
That I will have it rough
All I know, is that I had enough
Everyday I thought about the money fleeing
Called it way back that it’s gonna be my fiend
Thought about leaving, leaving
Pretence in the backseat heaving
I know,
It ain’t farfetched to say
That there’s gotta better way
For sure
I know
What I really need
Is a couple more of these
Funny bills and I need loads of them
Anyway
I gotta move on
Not here to stay
I say I gotta run
Oh baby I don’t care
That I will have it rough
All I know, is that I had enough
Anyway
I gotta move on
Not here to stay
I say I gotta run
Oh baby I don’t care
That I will have it rough
All I know, is that I had enough
HEADLIGHTS:
Come along on a ride with us
Only the headlights know where we are goin’
The sun is almost down and I don’t think
It’s gonna last long
But I guess i am fine with just roaming a bit
Got a lot of baggage in the trunk
But there’s still room for you
Just sit where you want to
By the way, it feels like I am drunk
But I’m not, don’t worry
The trees going by just look a bit blurry
Muddy roads, endless power poles up ahead
Feels like we’ve been here before
Do we go right or rather left I don’t know
It don’t matter no
Eyes are heavy, blowing past a cherry tree
One hand outside the window
Catching the wind (oh that feels nice)
Come along on a ride with us
Only the headlights know where we are goin’
The sun is almost down and I don’t think
It’s gonna last long
But I guess i am fine with just roaming a bit
Stop, no go on
It was just a bump
Sometimes I don’t care
What’s up ahead
Feel like sitting in the backseat instead
Looking out from the rear
Red lights in the back
All this way we drove
To just end up here
At least we can hope
For better weather
And I mean we’re all in this together
The tank needle is almost down to E
Just like always we knew
It would never be that easy
And just like your heart is yearning
The wheels will have to keep turning
Without any fuzz
Come along on a ride with us
Only the headlights know where we are goin’
The sun is almost down and I don’t think
It’s gonna last long
But I guess i am fine with just roaming a bit
Come along on a ride with us
Only the headlights know where we are goin’
The sun is almost down and I don’t think
It’s gonna last long
But I guess i am fine with just roaming a bit
MOTEL ROOM:
Turn the lights on
Let us have fun
We grab what we can get our hands on and throw it
Out the door from room 44
Hey you know what
We just light it up
On fire
And burn this whole place down to the ground
I’m tired of staring at those walls
With their faded gray color
Riddled with holes like eyeballs
Watching me day and night
Faded yellow light peeking through the lamp shade
Illuminating stains
It smells like this place was build from old cigarettes
And the ghosts of the past
They have found a place to rest
Yeah they all be chilling on the mattress
Static on the TV, ’cause nothing here is free
(There’s nothing good on there anyway)
Nowhere else to be cuz they have got the key
(But I think we can get out of here anyday)
Turn the lights on
Let us have fun
We grab what we can get our hands on and throw it
Out the door from room 44
Hey you know what
We just light it up
On fire
And burn this whole place down to the ground
This is our war
Against the cockroaches
That have swarmed all the small crevices
Wanting more
Than they can fit in their ugly little bellies
Reproducing endlessly they crawl on you at night
Dancing with their thin legs up towards the light
Watching with delight
How we don’t even put up any fight
The static on the TV is making me crazy
(So let’s throw it into their nest)
There’s nothing they can do against me and you
(And just burn it all down with the rest)
Turn the lights on
Let us have fun
We grab what we can get our hands on and throw it
Out the door from room 44
Hey you know what
We just light it up
On fire
And burn this whole place down to the ground
And burn it and burn it all down
And burn it and burn it all down
And burn it and burn it all down
And burn it and burn it all down
SEE YOU AT THE BORDER:
See you at the border
‘Cause I always felt
Like I’m not supposed to be here
Meet me at the border oh
It’s getting so old
Hold on
Gotta catch my breath for a second
Got a lot of shit up to my neck
And I feel
Like I’m
Drowning
Burning
Dying here
But i can’t get myself to just
Hop on a plane don’t care where to
Fly looking down at all the dust
‘Cause how would I get back down to you?
Never think shit through
I might have to stick around with you my dear
See you at the border
‘Cause I always felt
Like I’m not supposed to be here
Meet me at the border oh
It’s getting so old
Old here
It’s getting so old here
It’s getting so old here
It’s getting so oh-oh-old
When you just stop trying
And you find yourself lying
On the floor
‘Cause you’re so tired of living
And your thoughts aren’t livid
Anymore
Hoping for the best
No rest just stressed
But for what?
Gotta know, gotta know
Gotta be sure
For what
I’m doing it for ya
I’m doing it for ya
So meet me at the border oh
It’s getting so old
See you at the border
‘Cause I always felt
Like I’m not supposed to be here
Meet me at the border oh
It’s getting so old
Old here
It’s getting so old here
It’s getting so old here
It’s getting so oh-oh-old
Old here
It’s getting so old here
It’s getting so old here
It’s getting so hmm
