Heavy Bloom Announces Release of New Single “Space”

Check out here: Space

Release Date: 05/03/2024

Heavy Bloom’s latest single, “Space,” begins with a gentle piano and vocal arrangement, initially presenting as a quintessential love song. As the track progresses, listeners are drawn in by the melancholic melody and poignant lyrics: “Space is no place to love you.” The song evolves when the full band joins in with an ascending progression and a rhythm that evokes the heartbeat, transforming into a powerful allegory of two lovers striving to rekindle their lost passion. The narrative asks if the love they left behind can be rekindled and if her love will ultimately be enough.

Heavy Bloom, an ALT soul band, was born in a modest, overpriced one-bedroom apartment on the north end of Capitol Hill. This apartment, initially constructed hastily for the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle, was far from glamorous but did offer a basement pool. Joji and Jeanie, initially part of Hard Maybe (formerly Motus), composed their first song “Fig” together in this apartment. A few years later, they moved to a slightly nicer but still overpriced unit at Summit and Mercer, where Jeanie wrote “Bitter Love” and “No Matter What.” They later expanded their lineup by adding Cory on bass, Demarcus on guitar, and Jacob on keys, solidifying their sound.

The vocally driven Heavy Bloom seamlessly blends elements of RnB, Soul, and Pop to create a fresh and enticing sound that captivates a broad audience. Their music production approach is distinctive, appealing to those who appreciate familiar sounds as well as those in search of something new and innovative.

Mark your calendars for the release of “Space” on May 3, 2024. This single marks a significant step in Heavy Bloom’s musical journey and showcases their ability to create emotionally resonant and sonically rich compositions.

Stay tuned for more updates and be sure to follow Heavy Bloom on their journey as they continue to push the boundaries of the ALT soul genre.
