Thread Mill shares her new single ”Shadows” out May 27th. A mesmerizing and quite dark electronica journey contrasting with delicate and airy vocals.

During a jam session challenge in early 2021, Thread Mill wrote and composed ”Shadows”, fuelling her ideas from the depths of her emotional discomforts.
Almost a year after it was created, Thread Mill finally decided it was time to produce a dark electronica song out of it. Lyrically, it’s also the first bilingual song from Thread Mill, giving away her French-Canadian origins.
Thread Mill commented: “What was supposed to be a simple jam session turned out to be a song that has become very dear to me. While ‘’Shadows’’ aims at exposing one’s fragilities, it’s also a kind of statement that it’s alright to live with those and that one has got to accept them.
I tried to illustrate the turbulence of anxiety by exploiting the contrast between distorted synthesizers and airy vocals. This song is also the only one highlighting my mother tongue, for now!”.

Thread Mill is a Canadian indie electronic project led by singer, songwriter and producer Ariane Sisavath, based in Montreal, Québec. She is joined by guitarist Pier-Luc Perron on several productions.
Thread Mill shares dreamy, vapory and introspective electronic music involving synthesizers, Ariane’s airy vocals, electronic guitars and some sound design elements. While there is a clear retro influence in the first Album The City Sleeps and In Limbo EP, Thread Mill is now reshaping a sound mainly inclined towards IDM and electronica, with a touch of indie pop.
Releasing on May 27th, Shadows is a mesmerizing and quite dark electronica journey in which one’s fragilities are exposed.
