From a very young age I’ve had to cope with intense losses. In the process of writing this song I imagined seeing those I have had to miss on a daily basis in my own physical reflections.
As the French language is part of this story I wanted to inlcude French vocals to deepen the personal meaning of the song so I contacted Eldorado to collaborate.
As for me personally the music of Oscar and the Wolf has such an inspirational effect I decided to ask their guitarist jasper bullynckto do a remote recording session to capture their dreamy guitar sound I love so much.
With Ou est tu I want to captivate all these reflective emotions into lyrics and atmospheric landscapes in order to create a comfortable pool in which I can submerge and feel the emotions to it’s fullest.
Besides the song being charged with feelings it also helps me to keep the memories of the past close to my heart. I hope to achieve a similar effect to the listeners and while healing evoke feelings of acceptance of how we really feel.
Even though facing these feelings can be painful, I think it’s important to feel the absence in it’s full essence in order to move on rather than letting it decay inside your mind.
