Chip Pirrs, a Long Island City-based artist and songwriter, has released his latest single, Tønder, which is the second release from his upcoming EP, Places I’ve Left myself, following the early 2022 release of A.S.M.R. Tønder is a small town in Denmark where two lovers decide to marry in an attempt to extend their relationship, and the town provides the perfect inspiration for the bright synths that are the foundation of the song.
Working out of The Glass Wall studio in Brooklyn, Chip Pirrs and collaborator Josh Valleau have created a unique sound that can be heard in Tønder. Their combined love of synth music is evident in this electronic, pop, rock song. Chip Pirrs has a diverse background, born in Indianapolis but based in New York, and he is all about creating engaging soundscapes and relatable melodies. Tønder is Chip Pirrs showing his Indie Rock chops, and his sound is distinctive due to the sheer quality of the production. The sound quality on his recent album is quite punchy and very detail-oriented, making for a lively, edgy, and stark sonic approach.
Chip Pirrs’ music is personable and edgy, and he has a talent for creating energetic music. From the moment you hit the play button on Tønder, you will find yourself transported to a whole new world of sound and creativity. The song’s genre is Alternative, and it’s a fantastic example of Chip Pirrs’ sound and artistry. Tønder was released on August 31st, 2022, and is available now.
