Blueburst, the Atlanta-based alternative band, is set to release their new single ‘Amplify Me’ on May 19th, 2023. The song is the latest in a string of critically acclaimed singles from the band, and it’s a powerful kick in the face that is sure to make an impact.
Guitarist/vocalist Craig Douglas Miller, the mastermind behind Blueburst, has a unique story, having once written off his music career only to revive it at age 50. With the help of legendary guitarist Marty Willson-Piper, Miller set up his home studio and created an album’s worth of original songs, with the new project Blueburst.
The single ‘Amplify Me’ is a perfect representation of the band’s sound, which is rooted in 80s alternative and post-punk. Aggressive guitar riffs and a foot-pounding pace come together to create a timeless feel that is unapologetically retro in style. Lyrically, Miller reflects the angst of the times we live in today, exploring themes of making a difference and the rage that is created when people feel unheard.
The single was created with the help of drummers Michael Jerome (Better Than Ezra, Richard Thompson) and Brian Platt (The Cads), as well as bassist Ryan Kelly (Dayroom). With Willson-Piper’s inimitable style of creative guitar work, Blueburst has created a song that is sure to make an impact.
Blueburst’s ‘Amplify Me’ is a powerful reminder of the need to feel heard and the rage that results when we don’t. It’s a perfect representation of the band’s sound, and demonstrates the evolution of alternative music that we’re seeing today.
