Musical artist and producer xGCA, hailing from Rochester, New York, has released his newest single, “Caught in a Lie.” A passionate musician since his teenage years, xGCA has been exploring music production and songwriting since he joined an a-cappella group in high school.
He has achieved widespread recognition with his debut single “Heartbreak” released in 2021, and has now released his newest single “Caught in a Lie.” He has been exploring the boundaries of pop, R&B and electronic music, and his latest single is a testament to his meticulous approach to music production and songwriting.

What inspired you to pursue music as a career?
As xGCA, I’ve always used music as a means of self-expression and emotional processing. As I became older, I discovered that music was more than just a casual interest — it was a passion that I wanted to follow with all my heart. As a child, I was drawn to music as a means to connect with something greater than myself.
I’ve always found solace and inspiration in music, especially during difficult times. I was having trouble figuring things out when the epidemic struck, but I knew I could always turn to music to cheer me up and make connections with other people.
Now, as a musician and artist, my mission is to give back what music gave me as a child. I want to create music that entertains, inspires, and connects with people on a deep emotional level. Whether listeners are happy, sad, or somewhere in between, I hope that my music will be there to lift them up and remind them that they are not alone.
How would you describe your sound?
As a musician, I would characterize my music as an amalgam of indie pop and alternative, with a focus on storytelling and emotional openness. I work hard to make music that motivates listeners to explore their own feelings and experiences as well as connect with them personally. My music is distinguished by complex orchestration, earworm melodies, and deep lyrics that explore subjects like love, heartbreak, and personal development. Generally, I want people who listen to my music to have a relatable and cathartic experience.
What are your plans for future/upcoming releases?
I intend to continue putting a lot of effort into writing and releasing new music in the foreseeable future, as well as developing my brand and interacting with others in the business. I want to put out three to four additional singles this year with the intention of eventually putting them all together into an EP. In order to achieve my ultimate aim of turning my love into a career, I am adamant that I will keep working hard on my music.
I am excited about what the future holds and look forward to the opportunities that come my way. As I continue on this journey, I hope to meet new people, make meaningful connections, and inspire others through my music.
What has been your proudest moment as a musician so far?
I would be honored to share my reflections on this question in two parts, as I believe that a singular proudest moment doesn’t fully capture the essence of my progress so far. Even while I am immensely grateful that my debut release, “Heartbreak,” has received more than 11,000 streams, my happiest moment as an artist is a result of all the times I see friends listening to my music even when I am not present and they email me recordings of them doing so. These experiences confirm my goal as a musician, which is to connect with listeners and make their lives happier through my music.
How do you plan to keep your fans engaged?
I have various ideas for keeping my audience interested. I’ll utilize social media sites like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to interact with my followers by leaving comments and sending them direct messages, as well as to update them on my musical journey. I’ll also offer behind-the-scenes videos of how I make music.
Live Performances: Organize live performances at local venues or participate in open mic nights to connect with my fans. This would give me an opportunity to perform my music in front of a live audience and interact with them after the show.
Merchandise: Create merchandise such as t-shirts, hats, and posters featuring my brand logo and sell them at live shows or on my website. This would not only generate revenue but also allow my fans to show their support for my music.
Fan Contests and Giveaways: Hold fan contests and giveaways on my social media platforms to keep my fans engaged and reward them for their loyalty. For example, I would offer free tickets to upcoming shows or exclusive merchandise for winners.
Collaborations: Collaborate with other artists or music producers to create new music. This would not only help me expand my network but also give my fans a chance to hear my music in a new context.

What Is Your Music Creation Process Like?:
I often begin by experimenting with chords and composing a rudimentary tune once I have an idea. I then start writing the lyrics, which are frequently motivated by my own experiences or feelings. The hardest part of the process, in my opinion, is writing the lyrics because I want them to have impact.
My producer works on the arrangement and instrumentation after I have a rough draft of the song. We experiment with various instruments and sounds until we come up with a selection that, in our mutual opinion, best portrays the soul of the song. I am always open to feedback and suggestions from my producer, as I believe collaboration is key to creating the best possible music.
After the arrangement is finalized, I record the vocals and my producer mixes and masters the song. We listen to the final product together and make any final adjustments before releasing it to the public. It’s a long and sometimes challenging process, but it’s always worth it when I hear how my music impacts others.
What Elements Do You Draw Inspiration From When Creating Your Music?:
I get my inspiration from a multitude of places when writing music. My own experiences and feelings are the main factors that greatly influence my creative process. In an effort to connect with listeners who might be going through similar circumstances, I work hard to make music that is authentic and representative of my journey. Alongside this, I also take inspiration from other artists and genres that I admire. I enjoy experimenting with different sounds and styles, and I love to incorporate these elements into my own music. Collaborating with other artists and producers is another fantastic way for me to expand my creative horizons and bring new ideas into my music.
Tell us about your upcoming releases and provide further details about them:
Regarding my upcoming releases, I’m excited to present “Caught in a Lie,” my most recent song. The song is a reflection of a period in my life when I completely trusted a relationship only to find out that they were not faithful to me. My partner chose to lie and twist the truth rather than confront the problem in order to avoid any misunderstandings. Writing the song was a method for me to let go of the emotions that were holding me hostage during this emotionally charged moment.
The song’s production journey was also an adventure in itself, with a few setbacks along the way. However, I am immensely proud of how it has turned out and the message it conveys. I hope that the song resonates with listeners who may have been through similar experiences, and that it provides a source of comfort and catharsis.
