Marcus Smith’s new single “Sandwiches” is a perfect storm of rock, rap, and comedy. An ode to sandwiches, the song is guaranteed to make you sing along to the chorus by the time it comes in a second time. With influences like Childish Gambino, Lenny Kravitz, and Bruno Mars, all of Marcus Smith’s styles shine through in this fun and energetic track.

Marcus Smith is the lead vocalist, rapper, and guitarist, with the live band consisting of Jean Kong on keys and vocals, Joe Skowronski on guitar, Nick Fischer on bass, and Jeff Larch on drums. Smith was previously in a band for years before deciding to pursue a solo career.

The band has played notable gigs and events such as a musician residency at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Enshrinement weekend. They were also featured on NBA on TNT with Shaq and Charles Barkley.

“Sandwiches” is all about having fun and enjoying sandwiches. The single was originally recorded at the now-defunct White Out Audio in Cleveland and was re-recorded for its 10-year anniversary.

In Smith’s words, “Sandwiches have layers, Marcus Smith has layers.” If you’re looking for a fun and lighthearted track to add to your playlist, “Sandwiches” is a must-listen.
