We can all think back to a time when we turned down an invitation and later regretted it.
This song illustrates the pain and frustration that comes with intentional self isolation. This song was written when this was going on, making the thoughts and ideas natural to the theme of the song.
Jake Westpy commented: “This song has always been very close to me, it embodies almost my entire college career. In hindsight, I now realize this was not healthy for me mentally or physically, which is why the song begins and ends with a sort of cry for help. In the moment, locking yourself away seems like it is the best thing you could do when you are experiencing social anxiety, but trust me, you are just building a barrier around the wonderful experiences you are now missing out on…”.

Jake Westpy is a songwriter from the shores of New Jersey. He is a member of the group, “The Goldtunes” and has written many songs that were featured on notable music blogs around the world.
