The song expresses the feelings you can have after ending a relationship you cared so much about but you know that it’s better to have separate ways. Entirely written and produced by Dimitri von Büren’s studio in Paris, the song has been mixed by Sahil Ansari, the sound engineer of NYC indie artist JW Francis. This results in a mix of indie/dreamy and groovy sounds, surrounded by Dimitri’s powerful and soulful voice.

Dimitri Von Büren commented: “I really wanted to turn the page of a long and lovely but toxic relationship. This song, joyful and nostalgic at the same time, expresses a certain newfound freedom and desire to explore the world! “.

Artist Bio

Dimitri von Büren is a multi-instrumentalist and Paris-based artist. Born in the Parisian tumult, Dimitri conceives his compositions as an invitation to dream. At the crossroads of indie rock, bedroom pop, soul and jazz, Dimitri explores sounds that are truly his own, breaking down the barriers between genres.

He grew up with an eclectic range of influences – from psych, to rock, to folk. A huge fan of The Doors and Nick Drake, also grew up alongside classic noughties indie rock, with such iconic acts as The Strokes, The Libertines and The Kooks. These days, he’s exploring more of his groovy, psychedelic and lo-fi side, with key influences from the likes of Mac DeMarco, Parcels, Tom Misch and Oscar Jerome.

He released his first single in 2018, which was quickly included in the indie-pop selections of many French and Anglo-Saxon webzines. 6 tracks later, Dimitri develops and extends his musical inspiration: the artist’s first album ‘Moonlight Confession’ is released in May 2021.

Dimitri conceives songs like a trip. “I want the auditor to be absorbed and carried away by the melody and the atmosphere of my music. Which means variations on intensity and plays on vocal harmonies and background instruments. The main aesthetic I am aiming for is grace and oneirism.”
