I believe anger can be motivational, in small quantities. Often times, after my most recent breakup, I HAD to chose anger over sadness in order to just keep moving forward. The lyrics talk about the depression aspect of the breakup as well as choosing to find solace in anger by looking at instances of my partner’s straight-up tomfoolery. I wanted to create something that made light and poppy out of a really dark experience.

Randi – Like It Used To Lyrics
You don’t make it easy on me
Always lyin’ through your pretty mouth
Stalkin’ my socials and talkin’ about me
While you’re sleeping at her house
You never really wanted me
You only wanted attention
You never really wanted me
You only wanted attention
I knew you
And now I decided I hate you
I thought you didn’t like to lose
Boohoo, you have her to cry to
I need you
It feels like I’m drowning when I do
A fool anxiously sipping cold brew
You can’t make it feel like it used to
Someone’s always laughing at me
I got a loud brain, instant replay and it’s you
Shit talking’ me to my friends at a party
I guess that’s why they say they don’t like you
I knew you
And now I decided I hate you
I thought you didn’t like to lose
Boohoo, you have her to cry to
I need you
It feels like I’m drowning when I do
A fool anxiously sipping cold brew
You can’t make it feel like it used to
If you ever loved me
You wouldn’t try to cut me down
While I’m singin’ in the car
If you ever loved me
You’d admit that I was funny
And it wouldn’t hurt you
Wouldn’t leave a scar
You never really wanted me
You only wanted attention
You never really wanted me
You only wanted attention
I knew you
And now I decided I hate you
I thought you didn’t like to lose
Boohoo, you have her to cry to
I need you
It feels like I’m drowning when I do
A fool anxiously sipping cold brew
You can’t make it feel like it used to
