SONO Music announces Explained, the new Single by Amberscent

SONO Music is pleased to present “Explained”, the new single from Amberscent, the Italian artist from Rome.

Amberscent, born in the Marche region of Italy, is an artist whose identity is split between studies in classical music, music for cinema, and research on electronic instruments. Amberscent defines everything she writes as multiple attempts to bring these different parts of herself together, even though she never starts from herself when writing on a staff.

The single “Explained” is a piano solo where the ambience, the key’s mechanics and Amberscent’s breathing are just as important as the melody itself. Amberscent comments on the single: “Explained is one of those pieces I wrote that shows the process of “surrender” I have to follow each time I compose. When I play I have the feeling that the keys that I hit impulsively are like quick gauzes on a soldier’s wound, and those that I reject are bombs exploding on other continents: there is no peace in all of this, except in the moment before taking your hands off the piano, when the sound sows in the air the sense of what happened in this war, as everything that surrenders does. This time I could feel it in a piano solo, the next chapters will show a more complex way to follow this path.”

Amberscent is mainly dedicated to the soundtrack of short films, video art and also the live performances of soundtracks on films. In 2021 she received an award for the best experimental soundtrack of a historic advertising spot in the “SeeUsound” international competition.
