London-based artist Valeria Pozzo has released her latest single ‘Cape St Vincent’, a stunning ethereal jazz-folk fusion piece that reflects Pozzo’s personal search for belonging. The single is the first release from her upcoming EP ‘Circles’, set to be released in May 2023.
‘Cape St Vincent’ was written during a road trip across the West Coast of Portugal, where Pozzo was struck by the calm and magical atmosphere of the place. This inspired her to explore the concept of ‘home’ as a feeling rather than a physical space. The song reflects Pozzo’s emotional journey between feelings of joy and peace and a sense of melancholic estrangement.
Pozzo’s music is characterized by her intimate vocal style, influenced by her love for storytelling, and her ability to effortlessly combine genres. Her soundscapes are influenced by artists such as Joni Mitchell, Becca Stevens, Emiliana Torrini, and Jeff Buckley.
Pozzo has worked with several notable artists, including Jazz Jamaica All Stars, Eska, Neil Cowley, Antonio Forcione, and Robert Mitchell. She has performed at many prestigious venues and recorded at Abbey Road Studio, where she covered George Harrison’s ‘Here Comes The Sun’ for Peroni Nastro Azzurro.
Pozzo will be performing on a solo European tour in June 2023, taking her across several countries, including Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. The launch of her EP ‘Circles’ will be on May 4, 2023, at Servant Jazz Quarters in London. Pozzo is an awardee of the Record & Release Fund from Help Musicians, and her music promises to captivate listeners with its emotional depth and enchanting soundscapes.
