A new EP by Andrea Piersimoni, from SONO Music Family. Discover what inspired the artist, the idea and mood that led to this masterpiece.
“Angurværð,” Mighty Bear’s latest EP, marks a poignant and transformative chapter in the artist’s musical journey. Each of the five tracks serves as a vessel carrying the heavy weight of grief and the fragile whispers of hope that emerge in the aftermath of losing a loved one. This EP represents a significant stylistic shift for Mighty Bear, who, until now, was primarily known for their ambient and experimental electronic music. With “Angurværð,” Mighty Bear ventures into the neo-classical realm, drawing on the timeless power of orchestral arrangements to explore the depths of human emotion.
The story behind “Angurværð” begins with a personal tragedy—the loss of a close family member, which Mighty Bear experienced as both a profound personal shock and an artistic crossroads. The title itself, an Old Norse phrase meaning “sorrow’s guard,” reflects the protective role that creating music played in Mighty Bear’s mourning process. This body of work aims not only to guard the artist’s own sorrow but to serve as a sanctuary for others navigating their own losses.
Each composition on the EP follows a different stage of grief, from the initial shock and denial to the painful acceptance and hopeful looking forward.
“Angurværð” is not just a collection of songs but a narrative arc that invites listeners to journey through their own grieving process, offering them a space to reflect and heal. Mighty Bear’s shift to neo-classical music allows for a more expansive and expressive exploration of themes that are universally human, yet deeply personal. With this EP, Mighty Bear not only redefines their artistry but also offers a profound communal experience rooted in the shared understanding of loss and the human capacity for resilience.
This song is about your experience of being present with others while also feeling like your head is stuck in the clouds. Hard to differentiate realty from fiction

Concerning the composition history, it all started with the two chords of the verse, leading to the chorus through different variations in the arrangement. While harmonically the chorus followed almost naturally, I spent some time working on a chorus melody able to ‘open up’ the obsessive mood of the verse with its quite dreamy feel. Having benefited from the contribution of different musicians to record some parts (saxophone, drums and percussions), the recording sessions have been multiple and stretched through a pretty long period, until I could find a really satisfying result. Finally, from the thematic point of view, the song explores fear from different perspectives and in its different forms. I think we can’t (and shouldn’t) live apart from or suppress this complex feeling. It is definitely ‘embedded’ in our nature. What scares us of fear is surely its destructive, even annihilating side, but I think we sometimes overlook its potential to foster strength and bring renewal.
A new Single by Cecilia Lara, from SONO Music Family. Discover what inspired the artist, the idea and mood that led to this masterpiece.
It is the story of my wife, who’s been through rough waters lately in her life. She’s on the right track though, and showing a lot of courage along the way, although it hasn’t been easy.

MELFI: ‘Praise’ has a special place in my heart because I never felt ready for it to be over. It took over 2 years to fully develop and went through so many evolutions and tones and sounds before I felt that it was ready to be the most it could be. When I first showed Moses the barebones mix back in October of 2022, I told him the title and he said, “Oh bet I know exactly what to do” and within three weeks he had written all the verses and choruses. His lyrics expertly accented the vibe of the track I was going for and leveled it up beyond what I originally showed him; so, I had to 1-up or AT LEAST match his energy with the production. So continued the sound design journey that I’ve always been on, always trying to get it to sound that much better, more dynamic, more momentous. I wanted there to be a lot of room to get lost in. We’ve always loved being able to listen back to a song over and over and discover new elements about it, so we tried our best to implement that here. One day I had finally done it, after two years of us growing together as friends and artists, after the first version was even referenced, the song was finished. The scope and power of the song to me is perfect as it is, and I know we’ll look back and say that this song was huge milestone indemnifying our progress.”
Moses: “‘Praise’ is not the first time I worked with MELFI (and will not be the last) but marks the first time we poured ourselves into a track together. I usually don’t like songwriting based around the name of a demo beat, but what MELFI produced and allowed me to expand on is truly the EDM representation of praise, even at that first session. “Feel your praise, feel my praise, feel our praise” kept repeating in my head. I took what we created home, and the lyric writing process just flowed.
After some time, MELFI revamped the original instrumental and created this magical space. Crossing a 90’s Hip-Hop drum bounce with the lush textures and sensational sound design elevated ‘Praise’ to new heights. We want everyone who listens to temporarily drift into our world. We want you to “let go and just be who you are.” We believe we are all worth ‘Praise.’

‘Maestro of the Vines’, the result of blending reality, memory and dreams, is a song about “limitless undying love”. It talks about dreams being a shelter in which one can experience things that are impossible to occur in real life, such as visiting someone’s childhood to give them a helping hand, and being able to see, hear and touch someone that is gone. The intention behind writing and producing ‘Maestro of the Vines’ was to allow memories of a loved one to continue to exist over time, by capturing them in symbolic ways in the song’s lyrics and melodies.
This song came together on its own, it marks the start of a great collaboration and friendship with the producer Asaph.
It was born on San Valentine’s day, when her producer sent her this very soulful and vintage backing track looking for a songwriter to compose melody and to give lyrics to his music piece. It all came very naturally and effortlessly, within one day, the song was written and the vocals recorded, with the result of the perfect edgy and organic sound Ladylucci was looking for.
