Carter Fox, a multi-talented musician, songwriter, producer, and artist from Philadelphia, USA, has returned from the outer reaches of the universe with an enthralling new EP, Lost Signals From Outer Space. With questions such as “What does the universe sound like?” and “What if aliens intercepted signals from our planet?”, Carter Fox has created a captivating work driven by his profound fascination for astronomy and a deep appreciation for video games.
Carter Fox has blended elements of jazz, blues, and rock with downtempo and electronic influences, resulting in a truly unique and captivating sound. His signature style of ‘chill-fi’ music has been recognized by renowned labels such as Biblioteka Records, the Acrylic Label, and Mad Mad Dragon Music Group. The artist has released music independently through his Intrepid Fox Music label, as well as through various collaborations.
Carter Fox has been mentored by world-renowned bassist Gerald Veasley, and has collaborated with a roster of esteemed award-winning artists and producers, such as Freddie Jackson, Leon Huff (of Gamble & Huff), Pablo Batista, David Ivory, Ori Rose, OddKidOut, Moses Mosima, Joe Kenney, and more. Carter is an official artist of Aguilar Amplification and Moody Leather Guitar and Bass Straps.
Furthermore, Carter Fox has shared his expertise as a guest lecturer, captivating audiences with discussions on music, business, marketing, and bass at respected institutions, such as the University of Southern California, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Drexel University, New York University, and the Philadelphia-based after-school music/education program ‘Rock to the Future.’ He has written articles that have been featured on Hypebot and the Disc Makers Blog, and has offered private lessons, sharing his knowledge and passion with aspiring musicians.
Carter Fox’s ultimate aim is to compose music for video games and films, and to contribute to the grand tapestry of the universe’s soundtrack. When asked about the EP, Carter Fox commented: “This work is truly a journey (and was for me creating, which really took 10 years to put this particular collection together). I wrote a story that captures my feelings and excitement about this EP but I hope YOU – the listener – goes on your own great adventure through the cosmos while listening!
