Released only one month ago, on March 8th, 2024, Melbourne’s very own Karen Harding has been winning fans over across the world with her latest single release “Judge You.” The work is a perfect first look for one of Australia’s most reputable artists diving deep into personal introspection just ahead of her very first LP release “Behind the Mask.”

Arising out of Harding’s own journey through counseling, “Judge You” takes on the nuanced dance of self-judgment, allowing listeners but a brief glance into the inner conflict that so often dominates the path of advancement. The song carefully treads the fine line between wanting to defend oneself while having to let those interior stories out that could stunt our growth.

For this new single, “Judge You,” linking up with producer Daniel Nieberg, he crafts an instrumental that rides right beside the ethereal and neon vibrancy of Harding’s pop stylings, helping him truly set a sense of mood to further amplify his poignant lyricism. Together, they put Harding’s sensitive vulnerability on showcase and displayed the active range she has as a singer and songwriter.

In May 2021, Harding made a debut with “I Didn’t Realise.” One of the most hyped unsigned artists going round, off the back of just a few releases and plenty of singles. Her continued dedication and use of the innovative approach to music have borne their fruits, if the accolades she boasts of, such as the Radio Eastern Songwriter Talent Show in 2021, and nominations at both the World Songwriting Awards and the Crags Radio Independent Artist Awards are anything to go by.

“Judge You” is more than just a song; it’s an invitation into the complex tapestry of human emotions and experiences. In a musical way, Harding unites both when she would travel from self-recognition to therapeutic expression, sending sincere songs that would become an echo in the lives of the listeners. For Karen Harding, as she unfurls her newest single across major streaming platforms, there’s more to be done than simply share music. Instead, she shares a part of her journey with all of us, encouraging every person to look at his paths and at the masks that accompany us on that journey.

Weeks have gone by since its release, and “Judge You” is shining like a lighthouse among the swirling, introspective journeys of their own, proving, once again, the power music has as a tool for connection and healing. They can, with their gift, reach a far larger audience now that Karen Harding is preparing to release “Behind The Mask.”
